Credit Scores Update

Well, I finally had a chance to update our scores... There has been some improvement... not a whole lot. But, our paid and closed cards are not all reflected yet - I guess it might take some time yet. No worries, we have about 11 months before we will try to get pre-approved for a home loan. Plus, I finally printed and mailed off the credit agency dispute letters (remember that house in Wisconsin?)... So, in 90 days when we re-run them again - we should see some more improvement!!

Yay!

P.S. The scores have been updated on my sidebar.

    If you're trying to boost your credit scores, it's better not to close out any accounts, especially the older ones, becus doing so will reduce your overall available credit and increase the % of available credit that you do utilize. Basically, the credit bureaus like to see someone with lots of credit which they use very little.

    But bravo for you for working on this well before you need the home loan. That's the way to do it.

    Fern, thank you for your reply. Boosting the scores was a close second to never using a credit card again (and having to pay an annual fee). I actually kept our 2 oldest cards each open, it was the other 4 or 5 we closed. I know it will take some time, but we'll get there! Smile
